Untamed Spirit

The mission of Untamed Spirit Therapeutic and Educational Program is to enhance and enrich the lives of individuals with special needs through a partnership with horses.

As of September 14, 2010, Forward Motion Farm became the Home of a new non profit organization: Untamed Spirit Therapeutic and Educational Program.  This non profit will serve special needs children and adults and offer educational workshops to educate the public about equine assisted programs and activities.  We are excited to be able to offer this service to the community and look forward to sharing our expansion with you in the near future.

Untamed Spirit received its official 501 (c)(3) designation in September 2010. We rely on the generosity of people like you and would like to express our gratitude. Your tax deductible donations make this possible. Thank you!

In collaboration with Untamed Spirit of Pungo Virginia, Hero Kids Foundation is able to provide nature based equine facilitated psychotherapy. Untamed Spirit founder Barb Ford, M.A, NCC, CTRI, provides programs in wellness, women’s issues, solution focused therapy, and family counseling.

This nature based program allows Hero Kids Foundation to provide a unique opportunity for the children, and family, to deal with the daily stress of having a parent(s) in uniform serving their community and country.

Our Scholarship provided access to: one on one (1 child to 1 horse) therapy, children’s group and equine therapy and opportunity for family counseling in a nature based setting. Scholarships are $600.00 and the number of sessions a family receives is dependent on combination of therapeutic modalities. Average number of sessions is 10.
